Bedside Clinical Systems (BCS) participated in Philadelphia’s 2012 Canada-U.S. eHealth Summit on November 28.

Twelve of the 65 participating companies were selected to pitch a group of over 100 chief medical information officers, chief information officers and chief medical officers from U.S. hospitals, along with venture capitalists and industry representatives.

BCS’s CEO Rajesh Sharma delivered a strong pitch and was interviewed for a story in MedCity News.

A Canadian health IT company has developed a system to alert medical teams when a pediatric patient’s condition deteriorates. The company is preparing to submit a 510(k) application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Bedside Early Warning System.

Rajesh Sharma, the CEO of Bedside Clinical Systems presented the device at a recent eHealth Summit at the University City Science Center in Philadelphia. It is one of 12 companies vying for a place in a health IT incubator being set up by the Canadian Consulate.

The interview also included a video interview with Amit Jhas, director of business development for BCS.

Jhas is a MaRS Innovation team member embedded within the start-up company, which emerged from research within The Hospital for Sick Children.
