UMI_eqolTEST graduate eQOL has received $350,000 from the Ontario Government to support patients managing their kidney dialysis at home. eQOL’s solutions use mobile tablets technology to support patients in managing independent care at home.

The funding, part of an Ontario Centres of Excellence program to support technology used to remotely monitor and care for Ontario patients, was announced December 1, 2015 and covered in Canadian Healthcare Technology.

eQOL has partnered with London Health Sciences Centre, Ontario Telemedicine Network and the Kidney Foundation of Canada to support patients in managing their home-based kidney dialysis treatments while managing all relevant data, progress and supplies.

As Canadian Healthcare Technology‘s coverage noted, “The objective of this project is to demonstrate cost reductions in care delivery, increase adoption of home-based treatments and enhance the quality of care to support patients to remain at home.”

eQOL participated in the UTEST incubator’s second cohort. The program will announce its fourth cohort in early 2016.
