Whirlscape Inc.’s Minuum keyboard was featured on the January 27, 2014 episode of Discovery Canada’s Daily Planet.
Lucas Cochran, Daily Planet’s technology correspondent, covered the technology that’s perfect for small devices and big fingers, noting that Minuum’s creators are successfully combating the small amount of space available on wearable technology, like smart watches.
Check out the video here. The profile, in Cochran’s Digit@l segment, begins at the 1:10 mark.
“The Minuum keyboard for Android wants to take away the touch screen struggle no matter what size display you’re tapping,” says Cochran. “The software knows what you’re thinking and predicts what you’re going to type next, and the fancy algorithm shows a very promising future for a frustration free mobile typing experience.”
Whirlscape released a demo of Minuum on a smart watch on January 21 and had press coverage from multiple outlets within hours.
Technology outlets continue to take notice of Minuum’s next steps. On January 31, Daniel Bader from MobileSyrup wrote about the keyboard’s upcoming SDK in anticipation of various demo releases on the company’s YouTube channel.
Alexander Maxham of Android Headlines also praised Minuum’s latest software update.
This coverage follows the UTEST grad’s focus in a recent profile in BetaKit‘s Accelerator Series and a mention in The Financial Post as a Canadian start-up to watch in 2014.
